Did you know that cloud computing is green? According to the cloud computing infographic by Codero cloud hosting, the answer is yes. Big companies running their applications in the cloud can reduce energy consumption and carbon emission by 30 percent. Small businesses? They can save energy up to 90 percent!
We certainly need cloud computing. By the year of 2020, 15 percent of total global emissions will originated from information and communication technology (ICT) solutions. Fortunately, as the cloud computing will become mainstream in 5 years time, we can expect more businesses and personal users to go cloud; 71 percent of IT experts predict that Internet users will live in the cloud by 2020. That will bring even more benefits to the environment.
