Cloud Computing: Past, Present, and Future
Did you know that the idea about cloud computing has started in 1960’s? It kicked off from mainframes for business computation purposes, then entering the client-server, grid computing, peer-to-peer, service-oriented computing… and eventually the term cloud computing has finally coined in 1997.
Since then, cloud computing has shown no sign of slowing down, including the agent of change in IT jobs landscape, including the 344 percent growth of ads for cloud-related IT jobs from November 2009 to November 2010. What the future holds? Emerging economies favoring the cost transparency of cloud computing – something that makes cloud computing a formidable force in 2011 and beyond.
