GSA Journey to the Cloud

The General Services Administration (GSA) is one of the federal agencies that has successfully adopting cloud computing. GSA, in fact, is the first federal agency to have the email system migrated to the cloud.

GSA has almost 12,000 employees, and the move will greatly enhance the productivity and maximize the cost savings of the federal agency – the cloud email solution is expected to save GSA $15.2 million over the next 5 years.

The move to the cloud has commenced in May 2009 and has finally completed in June 2011. This concise, yet helpful cloud computing infographic shows GSA’s journey to the cloud:
